When determining whether or not we give a particular stamp its own entry in Sentiments+, we use a few guidelines:
- In general, to qualify as a sentiment, a stamp has to be primarily word or number-based.
- While not all of the words featured in a stamp set are always full sentiments, we still catalog every stamp on their own since they can be used to build sentiments.
- Single letters or numbers that are part of alphabet stamps are not entered individually (though you can find alphabet sets by searching "alphabet").
- We know that, technically speaking, not everything we call a "sentiment" is actually a sentiment (this is particularly true with memory-keeping stamps or stamps meant for a specific, non-greeting-card use, such as gift tags). In our defense, our name is Sentiments+ so we like to think the "plus" part covers all those other stamps. We ultimately want to make it easy for you to find and use your text-based stamps and hope that including as many stamps as possible is helpful to the most number of crafters possible.
- We always keep words that are on the same stamp piece together. For example, if "Thank You" is on the same physical piece of material when it comes out of the factory, then it's entered as one stamp titled "Thank You." You could, however, still find such a stamp by searching either "Thank" or "You."
- In some cases, a stamp may feature multiple text elements that are meant to be decorative. If there are distinct words within one of these stamps, we will generally enter it as a single entry, listing all of the words it contains. In these cases, however, the stamp image will be shown as manufactured. To use one or more of the words on the stamp, you likely will need to ink only the part you want to use or stamp the entire image and then cut out what you need (extra words can always be stashed for other projects).
